Default Direct from Remington

I just got off the phone with Remington Technical and the blowback I experienced with the Genesis is common. Provided it isn't too extreme. He must be a redneck too cause he suggested the duct tape or electrical tape....

Well I have not experienced it with my rifle that I have noticed.. Maybe once the rifle limbers up, it will start. Still it is something to watch for. Actually, with some of that rubber coated electrical tape over the cam/barrel joint.. and a muzzle mit of sorts, that rifle should be almost water proof.

Covering the cam would be OK for hunting but for the range I am going to put some electrical tape on the scope itself. In fact I put a couple wraps around it so if it rains while I am out hunting I can put a piece over the muzzle and another over the cam.
That sounds like a good idea for all my rifles. A couple wraps of elec. tape around the scope for the muzzle and maybe a few other uses.

What part of your scope gets fowled, the back bell?

I did notice some fouling on the underside of the scope tube, just above the torch cam as well. Nothing severe, and tape would be an easy fix.

Exactly where I had it too. Dave, it us directly above the cam/barrel interface. On the scope tube just behind the back scope ring. Some fouling on the rings too but they wiped off easily. The fouling must adhere more to the aluminum of the scope than the steel rings.

If you put tape on the cam itself... you might redirect the blowback right into your face.
