Default BH 209 and Thor's

Like a newbi I always forget something(camera)
I went to the lease and sighted in the new scope (Leupold Ultimate slam 3x9x40 Silver,It showed up at my door with a note reading,I hope you feel better and recover soon,no name or return address,I didn't even find the note till a few days later looking through the box, If it was one of you guys, thanks,I love it.)
I used the Encore 50cal, the BH 209 for the first time @ 100grains and the new Thor Ballistic tip 250 grain full bore bullets w 209 primer.
I must say the bulletts load hard,I guess that is good but it seems to hard to me.
I started at 25 yards and hit 7"low and left but a sweet group so I adjusted the scope and fired once more, bullseye.I moved back to 50 yards and shot a 3 shot group, just slightly low so I adjusted again for the top of the circle surronding the crosshairs. Here is a link with the scope features and a view of the reticle with explanation

My next 3 shots were one hole cloverleaf. The best I have ever shot.
Didn't have a chance to shoot at 100 yards yet or to try any of the other bullets I have,I just wanted to get sighted in so I could hunt this evening.
I had to come home and get ready for a colonoscopy tomorrow (Oh goody, the dreaded apuratus)
I have 2 different kinds of shockwaves to try,the 250 yellow tip black sabot and the 250 blu tip yellow sabot.I have some 200 grain yellow sabot.
I have the Hornady SST-ML 250's that I cut that stupid stick off of some 300 grain SST with black sabot and 3 diff powerbelts but for now I will hunt with what I worked up today.
My Dad gave me 2 video's from Russell Lynch called
Maximizin your muzzleloader and Precision Fire Inlines.
I learned allot but ofcourse I realize these are his opinions but I agreed with 99% of it definitly impressed with the results, made me rethink some of MY ideas.
I will take the camera next time for a better report.

Well it sounds like you have a good set up. That is a nice scope. I have been doing some reading on it. Good luck this hunting season and be safe.

Sounds like you could have a winner. I may have to buy a package for my Savage. Since they worked with Blackhorn they will work in the Savage with 5744, but honestly I only need 1 shot so sabot getting hot is not a problem---most of the target shooter over on Doug's Savage forum wait 10-15 minutes between shot. Me, I just load and shoot, I do carry a battery operated air pump and I put that down the barrel to cool it down. Target shooting, ok, but it is too costly to target shooting.
