I tookmy Encore 209x50 26" to the range today to start working a load for Indiana Deer season 11/15. After a frustrating start, I left my primers setting on the bench at home. I went to the club house to see if they sell 209 primers and no dice, but the guy working the counter had some there because he brought his MEC reloader to load some 12ga loads while working. I got 18 from him.
So back to the bench, got it on center in 2 shots at 25yds, trying to be efficient with the primersI had. Moved back to 100 yds and was shooting hndy 250 sst/ml. 3 shots about 2" with 80gr of bh209 - very impressed for the first shots.
Moved up to 100gr of BH and got about the same results just a little bit higher.
So with the few remaining primers leftI used a few of the MMP sub base gas seals to see if they made a difference, they did, they shot exactly 6" to the right and about the same size group.
And that was it,very short range session today but very impressed with BH for the little effort I put in today, the same barrel with RS, select or T7 yielded 5"-6" groups at best in the past and lots of flyers.I will do it again next weekend and test the shockwaves.

+1. TC Omega 100g of BH209, 300g Barnes Expanders, Win 209; 4 shots, 1 shot was for my Savage to make sure it didn't get bumped on the trip back from Colorado.
