Natchez Shooters Supply currentlyhas a pretty good price on the Simmons 4X ProDiamond. I have one of these and find it to be a darn good scope for the price - very clear with five inches ofeye relief. I've foundthefixed power 4X iseverything I need for a ML out to 150 yards. Parallax on theseis set at 75 yards.

Yes they sent me a alert yesterday so I have been thinking of whether I need an spare sitting around the house. I kind of thought it might be nice. But I have three scopes now sitting around the house. I should sell a couple of them.

That's exactly why I havent bought a Simmons scope for many years. Had one literally fall apart while mounted on a hard recoiling .22 LR - and it was just sitting there when the scope decided to undergo self-destruction. Not the scope you linked though.
Well UC,at least our individual prejudices are based on first hand experience. The ProDiamond I have has held up on one of those hard kicking .22's real well, but I also had it on a Browning 1885 45-70 for a while and it didn't come apart. I now have it on the Sinful Renegade and it suits that gun real well as far as size, eye relief, etc. Maybe I should give Bushnell another chance. After all, my 20 year boycott may have taught them a thing or two.

Had a Simmons 4x32 Pro-Diamondscope on two different muzzleloaders.
That scope lastedover four years, most of them on a CVA Mag. Hunter, a very hard kicking muzzleloader. Mostof those rounds were 150 grains of Pyrodex. The Simmons Pro-Diamondscopes are clear and good in low light. In fact, it is about as good in low light as the FXII 4x32 Leupold scope that is now on that gun.
Finally that Simmons scope would no longer hold zero. Will get it out today and run the adjustments all the way in,all the way out and then center them. Sometimes a scope can be rejuvenated that way.
I have had an AETEC on a mule of a 30-06 carbine for 5 years. It went threw scopes (admittedly cheap Tascos and bushnells) until I mounted it. I now have it on a 7mm BPR and it is still dead on and running. We have a bunch of Simmons products in our camp and they do well on Cf guns that take a beating in the field.

Well I admit I have two Simmons on muzzleloaders. They have not gone through their rites of passage and while the glass is good, I will see if they can take the strain. When I really want to depend on a scope though I put on a Nikon or Bushnell Elite. They have really shined on my muzzleloaders.
