Default U-mag @ the Farm - Nothing Important

Hunting season - well deer hunting is just around the corner and I really did not want to do it but I swapped out scopes on the U-Mag and installed one of Leatherwood's Hi-Lux 3x9x40 TBHPML scopes. This scope was developed in conjustion with Hi-Lux and Toby Bridges with a Ballistic Reticule calculated shooting a 250 grain bullet....

When I first looked at it I was not real thrilled because of the weight and the 3" eye relief - same things that UC pointed out to me when I sent him the specs. The thing that kinda drew to finally buying the thing was the price - really decent price through Toby's site.

Well anyway got out with the scope this morning.... not the best shooting conditions - the wind was blowing left to right across the farm fields rather strongly - but what the heck the wind might blow while I am hunting also... So set up everthing and went to work (if you can call it work)

The scope really worked well and the eye relief for me was closer to 4" than 3 inches. The scope has a very heavy cross bar from the edge of the scope - then down to a very fine cross hair in the center + the ballistic marks. The optics are really clean and clear and with the heavy to fine cross hairs should really work well in low light.

Anyway it worked well on the White and the White worked just as wel - like it always does...

That is some good shooting there Sabotloader. One of these days I will shoot some sabots out of my Ultra Mag. Although I was shooting them today out of my .45 Model 97 White..
