Default range session (wife demanded it)

took both my 45cal apex and new englander.

got started this morning. could not find any nipple for my new englander. so go to the store. picked up some 45cal 300gr plat. powerbelts.

I was happy that my new englander. all but one shot out of 12 hit paper. most hit high to the right. no matter how much I moved the rear sight to the left. 70grs of pyrodex rs 295 gr powerbelts. bore is tight. broke a jig. [:@]

I had another one in my kit
both the front and rear sights suck. going to replace them soon.

the apex I shoot 45cal 300gr plats. had to adjust the scope up a little. but I had to place the bullet very firmly to maintain groups. but I was able to place 3 inside a 4" circle at 50yrds every time.
300gr plat powerbelt with 75grs of triple 7 2f
started feeling an crud ring so I started swabbing every 3rd shot.

had a good time. going back to pyrodex rs on the apex. and get to some new sight for the new englander.

one of the few times I was happy to do a honey do list.

forgot to say, around my 4th or 5th shoot. I noticed the hammer was loose on the new englander. it popped the spent cap off the nipple and the hammer was pulled back about 1/3rd. tighten up and keep going

It sounds like you had a good day. So that should make the wife happy. Which is real important. Because if Momma ain't happy, no buddy's happy.
