Default MM Outage...

The hurricane got the server... here is a note from chuck...

Nothing here but here is the situation with modernmuzzleloader.com and you can spread this around. Our server was in the Houston area(area code 832)which as you know by now go CLOBBERED by the hurricane. I'mpretty sure the server is down and for that matter there may be NO server. WHATEVER the case rest assured that modernmuzzleloader.com will be back up even if we have to start from scratch.

That was my understanding as well. Although they have been having server problems for a long time. This last storm might have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Glad it was not just me that couldn't get on the site. I have been following the cracked breechplug thread since I now have a CVA Optima Elite and some BH209 to try. I had intended to shoot nothing but the BH209 in the Elite. Now I am going to approach that a little more cautiously. I hope they can get the site back going as I like that one also. I did read about at least one T/C rifle with cracks showing up in the breechplug after shooting BH209. I have no idea how long or what the previous situation was with the T/C (Encore I believe)so it is too early to make much of a decision. I may try to get the CVA people aware that they could pass on information on this site until the MM site gets back up.

I got an email this a.m. from Chuck. It as suspected the Modern Muzzle L<oader server is in the Houston area. Chuck has not idea when an up time or if we even have a server farm left down there. Stay Tuned,
I am sorry I could not get this out sooner, Ohio got hit terribly w/ high winds. Sustained at 55 mph, Columbus and surrounding areas are shut down. Power outages for up to a week in some areas. This is the foirst internet hook up I've gotten since early yeaterday afternoon!!

The server people are working on it. I got on the site but the forum is still down. The other sites the server hosts are down completely. I think they are trying to restore MM first. Not sure what needs done but at least it's being worked on.

The site is being moved to a new hosting service local to Chuck. The guy running the new hosting service had downloaded the entire forum BEFORE the hurricane damage. He is trying to bring it up ASAP but that will likely mean tomorrow or the next day.

Good to hear that MM will soon be back up. I have missed it not being up the past few days. Here, in Texarkana (300 miles from Houston), we had bad winds and rain on Saturday. My electricity is is still out, so I use an inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter in my vehicle to recharge that battery on my notebook. I use dial-up, so thankfully I didn't lose telephone service.
