Default Powerbelts aero vs hollowpt.

Been away from BP for awhile, anxious to get back into it. I've got an inline .54 cal cva. I've heard good things about powerbelts, my question is what is the advantages and disadvantages of aero tip and hollow point. Need a little education on them. What grain bullet should I shoot, ifI preferto shoot 90 grain of powder. (using pyrodex rs). Another question, I got some powder thats about4 years old, should I just toss it?

If that powder is Pyrodex it will work alright. Power Belts ? you must be from one of the restricted states.
If its legal in your state take a look at the new Hornady conical FPB they are very good. Lee

I'm sure you will get plenty of replies here but you can also go to
http://ganderspowerbeltforu.powerguild.net/forum.htm
And post there

I have never shot any of the hollow points but the AT's I shot did the job when shot with proper powder charges.
If pushed to hard they tend to fragment

For deer, the 295gr with 80gr pyrodex will be a good starting point and ifyou want to use 90gr+ the 348 or heavier.

first of all, welcome to the forum.

I don't think powerbelt makes a 54cal bullet under 300grs.

hornady is only making the fbp in 50cal for a while. once they have the line up 50cal they will start working on other calibers. that is from hornady.
