Default New Encore muzzleloader

Went with an Encore, I'm sure to have all kinds of questions, in the near future.
Plan to shoot 300gr Dead Centers w/100gr 777 pellets & 777 primers.

Good luck with your new Encore. My Encore is now tuned for 140 grains of Goex Pinnacle 3F and the .430 300 grain XTP bullet.

Thank you.

Congrats on the new gun... I think you will really like the Encore... but, I am curious why the decision on 300 grain Dead Centers? are you required to shoot an all lead bullet?

beast, all i ever used was knight also for the past 12 years. Started with the wolverine and moved to the revolution. I wanted to try something different and loved the grip of the pro hunter models. I cant say one shoots better than the other, but this T/C just feels so smooth. Both are great though and im sure ill get another knight at some point in time LOL

I have some of the Pinnacle but have not shot it.
Do you have any range reports or just plain ole opinions to share with me?

Have shot uptwocansof Pinnacle 2F and one can of 3F. Accuracy was the same with both powders: About 1.25" to 1.5" three shot groups at 100 yards with the .430 XTP and 140 grains of 3F. The 3F probably has a little more puissance than 2F. Will take the gun out again tomorrow and work up a load that will put the 250 grain SST to that same point of impact at 100 yards.

I like two loads that shoot to the same point of impact. Did this for my CVA Mag. Hunter and it puts the 300 grain XTP and the 240 grain XTP to the same point ofimpact with 140 grains and 120 grains of Pinnacle 2F, respectively.

My Encore likes a tight fitting sabot. Pinnacle; like JSG, likes to be firmly tamped. i put a fruniture knob on the ramrod and really lean on it.
