Default for 45cal shooters. my ??? to hornady

We'll see. As I am sure you are aware, 50 cal is king when it comes to
the muzzleloading market and we will probably develop another weight
before we move to another caliber.

I am VERY disappointed at what the local stores sell for the 45 cal.
Wal Mart is ALL 50 cal.
Gander mountain is not much better, they have some but very limited.I guess I have to do an internet order

saxman,

let me know what you are looking for. I have two local gunshops that have great prices on powerbelts. 17.99 for plats, 16.99 for copper, one place has 45cal 205 gr for 13.99

just send me the base price, I'll cover tax and shipping. deal for you and FG.

It doesn't hurt to bug those companies about what we want. I recently sent an e-mail to Speer suggesting they consider a 40 caliber Gold Dot in 210 or 220 grains with the same construction as their 41 caliber hunting bullet.

Our next run is scheduled for Mid-September....At this time, I would
recommend looking at your local Wal-Mart for them.

The companies do listen, a bunch of us Savage guys lobbied Barnes to make a TMZ 290 Flatbase, not the boat tail they currently market to MLers. They just came out with it two weeks ago. So companies do listen if you have several email them and they have someone internal to the company who advocates the position, which is what happened at Barnes.

I feel your pain. I live a mile away from a bass pro and they dont carry squat for a .45 caliber. 80% of their stock is .50 caliber. What .45 stuff they do carry is pellets and a few choices of powerbelts and thats it. Really disappointed............and here is the kicker: when I was looking to buy a .45 they only had 1 left on the self and the guy behind the gun counter told me as soon as the get .45's in they fly off the shelf. Makes no sense to sell alot of .45's but carry limited supplies for them.

One poster on here stated gander mountain didnt have much either and I agree with that about 99% of the time. I have a gander mountain about 30 minutes away and thier entire selection of muzzle loading whips bass pro any day and they have a pretty decent amount of .45 supplies. Not bad at all. I usually just head up there over bass pro. Most gander mountains I visit do really have good ML sections.....not sure why this one does.

I live a mile away from a bass pro and thier muzzle loading section for .45's suck. 80% of their stock is .50 caliber. What they do have in .45 is T777 pellets and few powerbelt bullets. But here is the kicker: when I was shoping for a .45 they only had 1 shelf and the salesman behind the gun counter told me that as soon as they get .45's in they fly right back off the shelf. Makes no sense to sell alot of .45's and not carry squat for them.
