Default off topic, need some bullets

I am in need of bullets for my marlin 30-30 with microgroove barrel. I was thinking of Barnes but i am unsure if they make a bullet for the 30-30.

I know hornady has the flexy flip thing out for the 30-30 and i plan on keeping that as an option.

Right now i am reloading some with an all lead With gas check bullet tips that i beleive john morris sent me

wish I could send some I am not using to try out. but all I have is stuff for '06.

how about hornady 150gr. I know they use to make some. my dad loads them for his win. 30-30. but he has not load much in the last 5yrs. so I don't know if they make that round any more

i used to use the Silver tip bullets but they stopped making them. I dont have a clue what i had all my cartridges loaded with but they came apart real easy in my sand trap. I was hoping for an all copper bullet.

May order a mold after i see how well these all lead bullets shoot.

omega and mountain rifle are going out for final tune in and then getting placed in a safe area until hunting season.

IMHO,i don't think a 30-30 load, will drive an all copper bullet fast enough to expand it !!!???

I quit loading my 35 Rem and bought the Leverrevolution. It is great ammo.

I always shot the Remington Core-Lokts in mine. They always worked beautifully for me.

FG
Those cast bullet weigh out about 173gr. I get my loads from Lyman castbullet handbook. It is the 31141 mould I usually get 1800 fps from them. They are wheel weight lead alox lube rolled in motor mica. That is the white powder. I find it really reduces leading.I think a Barnes 130 0r 150 grain should work well if you shoot pointed just load 2.

For a number of years I have been loading a Winchester 150gr for my Marlin 30-30. This is the bullet http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=134178that I use. I get good velocity (2500fps using .5 gr under max load) using IMR 3031 powder and can normally get 10 shot groups of around 1.5 to 2 inches at 100 yards. The last deer I shot with it dropped in its tracks at 150 yards. With the hand load I get around a 200 yard 6" PBR out of it.
