I like fish of any kind, but when I was a kid there was a neighbor who's wife was from Arkansas and that woman could fry catfish. She was a cool lady. She'd tell the kids stories of living in Arkansas and it sounded like she was not from a weathy family if you know what I mean. Anyway, I'd catch a couple5 gallon buckets full ofblue or channel cats and take them over there.. She'd then help me clean them, and we'd have a big cook out for her and our family. All the women would make up potato salad, jello salads, and fried peach pie, and she'd cook catfish. Then it was my job to eat until I could not walk...

Nice catfish, and trout there guys. I think I might have to hit the boat tonight and see if I can not land a few Walleye.

To a lot of people it may sound boring. But there is just something about good friends and a good fish fry. Tom.

The kids and I got out fishing last week. 5 nice walleye and 29 crappies. I just love fried fish with fried potatoes and fresh tomatoes from the garden.

PS Johnny, those trout look awesome! Ever try grilling them?

DeerWhisperer I do not have a recipe for Fried Peach Pie. My neighbor took that to the grave with her,I suppose. Although there are countless recipes on the net for that particular delight.. And a scoop of vanilla ice cream on them hot pies..

I know the feeling. I use to do alot of crabbing as a kid. Every once in awhile would go out and dip some soft crabs. My neighbor use to fry the soft crabs up for me. She would make a batter, About the consistency of pancake batter but would taste more like bread. She would pour this over the softcrab while it was cooking. It was like a fried bread.
But i never thought of asking for the recipe as a kid., she died when i was in my late teens. I still get a craving for her softcrabs every once in awhile.
