Default Some shooting with the Mountain rifle

Rain cleared out a bit and i was able to get off 4 shots out of the .54 mountain rifle at 100 yards.

My new load is 100gr Pyrodex RS, .015 double patch and .530 ball. My last 2 shots measured 1 1/2" group and almost center. Its about 1" high @ 100 yards so i am sticking with that.

Will be my back up elk rifle! I plan on changing rifles every other day.

Really happy with how this rifle has turned out for me. Has proved to be worthy to stay on my rifle rack for at least a year!

Couple new pics. Ive been rubbing the stock down with linseed oil since the day i got it and its really starting to bring out the curly maple. I also removed the ugly case color hardened crap off the lock and went with a natural finish and browned the hammer. Ran out of plum brown before i could get it the color i want. Will touch that up later on.
