Default Omega and Mountain Rifle

Took both rifles out to 100 yards and shot the elk target. That target is awesome! I mainly wanted to see how the Triple 7 primers shot and as before, not very well with RS. Pyrodex P they shoot great. So remington kleanbores it will be! RED = Omega
Shots #ed 1-5 in white boxes are the mountain rifle with the charge listed below.

Mountain rifle i wanted to do a little experimenting with patches and charges.
80gr RS and Single .015 Patch,
First shot is down in the leg![:'(] Not my fault! Thats what the rifle does with a single patch and clean bore. Shot 2-4 were perfect and then #5 was a hang fire but still a leathal shot!

next was 70gr RS and a single patch, Not sure what the heck happened with shot 3.

By this time, it was a constant down pore but i wanted to see again how my 3 shots with a double patch would do and the first 2 were perfect, exactly how it always shoot with this load until i loaded #3 and it was a BAD hang fire!

Heres the elk target that i was shooting at from 100 yards. Pretty easy to see even with open sights!

I like that target, is it a 1/4 scale? It doesn't look big enough to be a full size. Nice shooting and report, thanks for sharing.

Yeah about 1/4 size with open sights. It was meant for scoped rifles and 100 yards to be life size. Works great for open sights.

Cant do any more shooting with either today due to rain

Okay 3 more shots with 80gr RS, double .015 patch and homecast .530 ball. I was aiming different on my last shot so that is why the third shot is high of the first 2 shots. Done on purpose.

I will be hanging her up on the wall for now. Dont want to shoot it to much or else you'll see me hunting with it and not the omega this year

Another Mountain Rifle with USA Made barrel and maple stock is on my to buy list again. Only this time a .50cal. Pssh i admit it, I plan on buying all the calibers they made the mountain rifle in lol.

Oops, would help if i posted the pic.

Those are interesting targets.. how big a circle are those on that target?

i have no clue, i actually just noticed those 3 circles lol. i cant even see them in my scope at 100 yards so its pretty much just like in real life, pick a spot and pull the trigger.
