OK first i know it is beyond illegal and unethical to shoot from a vehicle or even when you on a road. not my question.
I have been driving either looking for a pull off or field or area that looks like it might be a spot to scout.
Every time i go scouting i see at least one or two field that have good size deer in them.
If you where driving came up on a bean fieldsaw deer on public property would you drive up alittle park get out. walk make to field.
Then walk in the woods say 20 feet and take a shot if the deer were still there. I think here you can not hunt with in 10 feet of a road so i would move atleast 20 if i could
i know this might be hard with a bow. but what if you had a rifle or a
muzzleloader.
Give you answer for bow ml and a shotgun or rifle. if it differs.

your out driving around scouting for deer. You see deer on legal hunting grounds, close to the road. And you're asking, would you feel it alright if you drove further up the road, legally parked, entered the field or woods, worked your way back to the field, and if the deer were still there would you shoot? Yes, I have no problem with that.
If you were out walking towards a field you normally hunt, where it was legal to shoot, and you knew this field often times held deer. You got to the edge of the field and sure enough there were deer in the field. And it was legal to shoot them there. Would you shoot? I sure would. So what's the difference in the two scenerios other then you knew one field existed and walked to that VS you found the other field while driving, saw deer in the field and ended up legally harvesting one there.. I see no problem.
In my area it is not uncommon for groups of people to drive the back roads. When they spot deer, and the deer are on public land, often times they will post shooters and then work that field or woods to drive the deer to the shooters. Or they stalk them after parking. About the same thing.

I see nothing wrong with stalking a dear that you spotted from a vehicle. However, it'sNOT ethical to drop grenades from a hot air balloon.

It is extremly difficult to judge windage from a balloon. You need to drop spotter grenades first, usually resulting in spooking the deer. Running deer are impossible to hit with grenades(even though close counts)

As long as it is legal I can see no problem with this. Here in PA you have to be 20 yards off the road before you can shoot. Also, you can not have a loaded firearm in the vehicle. A ML is considered unloaded if there is no cap or primer installed or no powder in the pan for a flinter. And it is illegal to shoot down the road and across the road unless your line of sight is above traffic.
But I don't know where you guys hunt but to see a deer in the field during legal shooting hours in hunting season around here is almost unheard of.
