Wonder Lube or Bore Butter are good for shootig, BUT NOT for preserving the gun after cleaning!!

I agree with eldeguello, Wonder Lube and Bore Butter are both good. I have used Crisco Shortening also in a pinch. There are a lot of them out there, some worked good, other terrible, made a real mess. I use the Bore Butter almost all the time.

I think you can get beeswax at craft stores that sell candle-making supplies. Or, if you can find a local farmer who keeps bees!!

lonewolf, I use wonderlube on my maxi' s, I have an attachment that screws on the end of the tube of wonderlube, push a maxi in one end squeeze the tube, push another one in squeeze the tube, take previous bullet out of the other end of tube and you have a bullet with all the grooves filled and excess cleaned off. Works good, but I don' t know if that attachment is available anymore, I bought mine a long time ago. wonderlube and bore butter are both good lubes, but I don' t buy into the seasoning bs, just scrub barrel real good with hot water and dry patch till clean then run a patch with a good gun oil on it.

I would have to agree with Cayugad all 3 work real good.
