I went to bass pro last weekend with the intent on buying Hornadys new FPBbullet but they didn't have any so I picked up a pack of Hornady Low Drag 300gr sabots.Any of you guys tried these out,how do they shoot? All the reviews are pretty good on them.Just wanted to know what you all think.

I've been thinking about trying those out too. They look like a good deal at Sportsman's Warehouse, 25 for around $13. I'm just a little worried about the thiner sabot as some of my rifles have larger bores, my white has .504, two othersare around .502. I do like the price at about 50 centsper round.

Has anyone compared the sabots to the MMP offerings, what do they match up with?

The Honady "Low Drag" is a MMP HPH-3p- EZLoad only in red instead of black... MMP is also making one for Knight or Barnes - think it is blue as well as TC

The have shot real well for me with BH209, as long as the bore is not on the large side. They are the smallest sabot I have measured to date.

Why would you want a "Low Drag Sabot"? I always thought it was better to loose the sabot as soon as possible after leaving the muzzle?

They are indicating to you that the sabot has "low drag" as you push it down the barrel.... easy loading

ahhhhh. Wouldn't accuracy suffer then if it is too loose? I guess for those that it fits snugly it would be ok. One of those try it and see things I guess.
