The shop owner said Knights scope bases are not 'standard'- can someone recomend a good set of bases?

what ever rings/base you get, Get the highest ones possible! I hear those KRB's are PITA when a scope is mounted.

Congrats on the new KRB. As Gander said, putting a scope on the KRB can be trying with trying to drop the primers in place. You'll find a way that works good for you. I have hams for fingers and my KRB with the Nikon scope took a little time to primer but I fugured out a way that works good for me. Shooting it without a scope is not a option cause I've had surgery in both eyes. I picked up the Weaver #45 (48045 gloss) top mount bases for mine but didn't use them yet. I had another set that worked, can't remember the brand Maybe some CVA mounts?? You'll also forget to set the trigger safety before you fire it. Have fun with it and make sure you give us a range report.
Here's mine.

Mama just smiled...no trouble....yet!

I also read that anything that will fit a Rem 541 will fit the Knight KRB

Good luck with your new rifle... Underclocked should be able to tell you the scope mounts and rings needed for that rifle...
