I got talking to FG (the KID gets me in to trouble). I told him I am starting to look into a 54cal ml, he told me to contect tc and see if they have a barrel for my new englander.
I am also going to send my barrel to them and see if they can do anything with it. I know it is pitted but not how badly. then I got thinking (gets me in more trouble then FG). a shotgun barrel be cool too.

If you want a barrel contact Fox Ridge Outfitters. They work as T/C's custom shop and have the barrels etc.. If you need the rifle checked then you would contact T/C.
As for pitted, put something down the barrel and take a good look in there. If you have no bore light, take some tin foil. Wrap it into a ball that is SMALLER then the diameter of the bore. Then drop that down the barrel. Now hold a strong flashlight to the side and the ball of tin foil will reflect thelight and allow you to see in the bore.

A clean white cleaning patch rammed to the breech plug works better than tinfoil, for reflecting light. A worm is all that's needed to retrieve it.
T/C, last I knew, is great with customer service and warranty...
Have seen more than one T/C returned to the Warranty Dept.with a "This is my favorite ML and now it don't shoot worth beans" letter, and have a brand new one show up as a replacement.
FWIW........

I do not believe that Green Mountain Barrel Company has a barrel that fits the New Englander. You can call and ask, but looking at my charts I do not see one. I bought my 12 gauge barrel from Fox Ridge Outfitters. I have a .54 caliber barrel as well for the rifle (my new englander)...
