Default .490 powerbelt round ball

Just dumped out my sand bucket today so i could put up a new one and set the used one up at my 58 yard line. Buckets are holding up great.
Most of these were from the CVA Hawken .50 with 40 and 50g FFFg Pyrodex P at 50 and 75 yards.

Expanded great.

These conicals are what happens when you shoot a White through a tree... The tree was a Balsam. But they did expand pretty good. They range in weight from 471 to 312 grains. I am guessing that these were either 460 or500 grain conicals. The lighter one could have been the day I was shooting some 375 grain Buffalo Bullet SSB's.

The target was today. I was shooting some 460 grain conicals with some Goex 3f at 50 yards to see how high they would hit since the rifle is sighted in at 100 yards..

Yep thats what you gotta do with pure lead. Have to drive them slower. Now if you are insane and like the brutal ass whipping from a 400+ grain conical and a heavy powder charge, have fun!

I wish i would have taken pics of those custom 385g paper patched conicals idahoron sent me for that Apex.

But anyways, the .490's were just posted to show everyone how soft the powerbelt lead bullet is and how easily they expand with little powder. Those were casted from my lee mold which is either 177 or 178 grains .490 round ball.

That really is some excellent expansion with that lead. I also cast roundball out of a lee mold. It makes an excellent ball actually. I need to get into the shop and start some casting projectiels again soon...

wow u guys know how i had to file down the front sight on my cva bobcat to get it on at 100 yards with a powerbelt? I just loaded 40g pyro P and a .490 ball and it was shooting excellent groups but 14" high! i'll go a head and just use that as my conical rifle.
