Buying Black Powder in NY state ????

I am starting to get some free time now and want to do some shooting
with the cartridge rifle..My question for you tonight is this..

Is it legal to but black powder in my state? I have plenty of 2 F Goex,
but would like to get some 1 F...I have heard it is not legal to but the
real stuff here..Does anyone know if this is so or not ???

I can always go down to PA and get it,if so......Thanks for your replies..

To the best of my information, it is legeal to buy black powder in NYS. However, the idiots in Albany have passed so many restrictive laws for the dealers to follow, that most, if not all of them have simply stopped carrying it. Your best bet is either to have it shipped to you (horrible hax-mat fee) or buy it in person out of state (horrible gas prices)
The best alternative is to wait until you have to go to PA for another reason, and then buy it while you are there. I just had to make a business trip to Rochester, NH, so I brought my Renegade with me and had T/C make a couple of needed repairs. As usual, they fixed it for free. While there, I was able to buy some Goex.
Company car, company gas, got paid for my time. The best of all worlds.
