It's always nice to get your work done.. then when you play you don't sit and fret over what you should be doing..

I spent most of the week on the wood shed. I filled it with hard maple for next winter. And I can tell you what.. swinging a splitting maul never used to bother me, but this year it just tore me up. My Shoulders ached, hands & forearmswould fall asleep at night and throb, and all the cutting and lifting just did not seem as easy as it used to be. I have to get a little more cedar in, and I want to log enough to make boards for some carpentry I want to do down the road, but that is not a rush business.

I can now go turkey hunting and not sit in the woods and wonder if I should have stayed home and worked..

Dave,

Nice pile of wood there..Mine is all done for next winter, but I keep on cutting.
I have probably 15 more locus to get cut and split..I also have a splitter..
It is slow like you said, but it works good on the locus..Now if it were oak
that would be a lot faster with the maul..My hands get like that as well...
After turning wrenchs for a week or so...Good luck all..I will be in touch..I
need to get out with my 45-120 I bought a month or so ago.....John
