I just made up a batch of beeswax/crisco/olive oil patch lube. While it was still liquid I poured it into an empty Speer bullet box and a musket cap tin. The bullet box is real handy when shooting from the bench - just wipe the patch across the lube (or pre-lube at home in front of the TV). The musket tin carries nicely in a pocket. What do you do?

So if I want to dip conicals I can microwave it in the container, dip all the conicals I want, set them on some wax paper, and then let it re harden in the same container. For hunting I carry a small tin of it in a #11 container as I seldom need very much in the field if the conicals are lubed already...
I use moose milk on the patch material..

There are hundreds (thousands?) of recipes out there. I get 2 oz. of beeswax in a"muffin tin" configuration from the plumbing section of a local hardware store, and mix it with 2 oz. Crisco and 4 oz. olive oil or peanut oil. Heat it in the microwave in a glassfor about four minutes until it's liquid, stir it up a little, and pour it intoany handy container.Works fine for me.

I always wanted to make my own but can never find the beeswax. What I've been doing is melting bore butter and presoaking my patches - about 100 at a time an dkeep them in a zip lock sandwich bag.

Hobby Lobby sells bees wax as well...$9.95 a pound...
I keep some in a wooden pill box that I found at the Mast General Store in Boone, about 25 years ago, in my hunting bag, if I want to be PC...
I usually make about a pint at the time, I just pour in a pint canning jar...I also have a few Altoid cans of it that I use for the range...
When using, I just cut a few strips of ticking, about 18-24 inches long and
1-1 1/2 inches wide and lube both sides, using a putty knife, then microwave for 20 seconds or so...This is rolled up and stored in the patch box, if going to the range, I put in zip lock bags...
