Sabot - what loads do you recommend starting with using the Bullshops bullets?

I can tell you whatI shoot and from there you can try what you might like...

From an inline or in my case a GM-LRH SS barrel mounted in a Renegade stock, I shoot 90 grains of T7-3f with the shot card on top of the powder. The 3f gets so hot i worry about melting the bottom of the conical...

In my 50 cal Renegades with a normal TC barrel - I shoot 80 grains T7-3f...

Think most guys on DWB shoot 70 grains and they really worked well with 70 & 80 grains - but @ 90 grains and a 1/28 twist GM barrel the groups reall tighten up. Shot a poor whitetail doe with that load this year @ 96 yards - she never knew what hit her. brown and down! - has a new meaning for me now.

Cdad use to shoot them with 110/120 grains of T7-2f from his White U-mag - but i would not suggest that unless you have a great and forgiving shoulder.

Hope you have fun shooting those chunks of lead....

Thanks sabot - Yeah, they are pretty big. I'm sure they drop like a rock past 100 yds. But no matter, I never shoot that far anyway. Looks like its going to be nice this weekend. So I might get out on Sunday or Monday and try them. Watching the grandkids on Saturday.

Actually they do a lot better than ever thought they might... When I first started with ML's in Idaho we could shoot sabots.... at that time time I always assumed that if i could not shoot sabots that I would shoot Powerbelts - Had no interest in lead grenades.... but as you learn about the limitations of PB's suddenly the conical does not look that bad. The 460 has an actual BC of .202 and flys a lot better than I ever thought.

Here is a ballisic sheet for the 460 with 90grains T7-3f...

I use a point blank range computation to compute these rang sheets.. It just so happens that for this bullet with this velocity -100 yards is the correct 0... Then you are really pretty good out to 150..
