Default stock finished (not happy)

I cut the linseed oil treatment short do to how the stock was starting to look. add one coat of urethane. very unhappy.

I don't know it may end up growing on me, I'll take it out side in the sun light. need to bore sight again with floating the barrel too.

Corey, that's the nature of a hardwood stock like birch. That stock just had a lot of open grain wood that soaked in the stain/linseed oil more giving it a darker color than the closed grain. But it looks like you did a good job and the wood is protected. That's why most stocks are made from walnut or maple. And BTW, I'm like sabot, I sort of like it, its unique.

Yep it's birch. The stock on my 10/22 did the same thing at the pistol grip. I kinda like it too.

I got it out side, got some pics out there. like it better in sun light[8D]

I getting overly picky lol

now I gotta just bore sight the scope. I am going to have some swivels added.
