I'm thinking I need totry a tang sighton either my TC Hawken or white mountain carbine. who makes one for these that I dont have to drill any holes in the tang. I measured the distance between the two tang screws and its 2 1/2 inches. thanks for the help. Steve
Thompson Center makes a tang peep sight... I had one on my Renegade for years but took it off.

Stevie I was going to get one a couple weeks ago for my Hawken. I believe it is T/C's model 7194. Cabela's carries them. I took it out of the pack but the aperature hole is too small for me. You probably could bore it out.
As for drilling - Maybe Dave (Cayugad) can tell you - On the older Hawken tangs there was the standard 2 screw holes for the wood screws plus one addition hole tapped for a machine screw. I believe you used the front wood screw hole and the machined screw hole to attach the sight.

The tang sight on my T/C hawkins is like decribed above, from T/C and the machine hole in the center of the tang between the two wood screws.
Most people recommend you drill the apture out to suit your shooting style.

As far as I know all the tang sights require a center hole threaded for the screw furnished with the sight. Some tangs came pre-drilled and some have to be drilled. You might call T/C and see if they have a pre-drilled tang available.
