Default range report (457 405gr and 100 yrds)

went to the range to work out sabots with 457 bullets I casted. ended up one of those days your happy but your saying "what the hell happen".

Knight usak /tasco 3-9 x 40
reg cci #11 (could be the problem) norm, rem #11
winds 5 to 10mph clear
15 457 405gr homecast with 75gr T7
5 TC cheapshot 240gr 90grs pyrodex rs
5 tc surefires 230gr 85grs pyrodex p

normally this gun is not picky about how the barrel is clean or dirty, about 50 yards about inch or 2 deffernce, only thing I changed was using reg cci #11. in one case almost 3 inchs and if I swab between shots it was just starting out again. would not come together until 2 or more shots before swabbing. [&:]
the rifle range right up front 50 yrds, middle with all the targets 100yrds, far back with no fincing 150 yrds.

457 405gr with harvister crush rib 75grs t7 50 yrds

same bullet and same charge , orange mmp, I don't know where the long gated hole came from.

100yrd, cheapshops 240 grs,

100yrs 230gr tc surefire 85grs pyrodex p, brought 5 charges but dumped 2 charges on top of each other, cought it before putting the bullet down thank god

457 405grs homecast 100 yrds, 75grs T7. my first shot completely missed and the third shot I took completely missed, both on clean barrels

Like I said it was one of those days I was happy but wondering what happen. I am going to back the charge off the 405grs round and see if I can clean it up some. may change powders.

Gee whiz, I do not know... but you are talking about backing off the T7 on the 405's....

I shoot .458/300 grain Noslers MMP orange sabots with 110 grains of T7-2f in the inlines and .503/460 grain Bullshops conicals with 90 grains of T7 in the Renegade with the GM -LRH barrel. Really get good accuracy with both. You might just need to drive them a little faster - maybe 90 grains of T7 for all of them in the USAK....

Do you normally use a #11 magnum cap of some sort?

Just thinking out loud

Do not add unless you are compfortable with it...

Here is a target shooting 400 grain BullShop conicals with T7 - this only a 25 yard target but it was also from a 1/48 twist Renegade

Here is a target shooting .458 - but I was only using 100 grains of T7

When I shoot the .458 I normally shoot them with 90 grains of 2f.

I edit it, I'll up the charge. and use remingtons or the mag. seemed like my gun did not like the reg cci's. came home and casted about 100 of them with my wifes help.

that is my next range session with my knight it is going to be working up a load with them.

I am a beleaver in the tape on the breech plug

one of these days I will figure one of these things out [8D]

she liked helping me do it too.
yelled at me about NOT asking her to go to the range (which I have). Earler she yelled because I was going
next time a ml goes to the range it is going to be my new englander. I am going to that thing to shot for me.

sabotloader, I may take it to 80 or 85, since I been between jobs I added some weight to help with recoil.

over all I still got a good start on an work able load. still wondering what was going on with my gun yesterday.
