Default new rifle arrived today,,,,

Well here it is Browning 1884 in 45-120 cal
shoots a 537 grain lead bullet..That burns
up lead pretty fast and black powder..

Great rifle. I really like mine, but it is a 45-70. All you need to do is get rid of those scope bases?? I would also suggest a leather rap around pad. I have no idea why they put those crescent butt plates on those babies. I found a red Winchester pad and put it on mine. The gunsmith did a great job. If you want to see a picture with the red pad on it, send me your e-mail and I will e-mail it to you. I have been having trouble getting photos uploaded onto Photobucket lately. Tom.

With that type butt plate, you don't put it on your shoulder, it's made to settle into the upper arm, just above the bicep...

sharp rifle:
I use to own a 45-70 with the steel butt plate and can say I tried the 525 postal cast boolets behind 65 grains of BP .
I loaded 20 rounds think I got to the 12 shots and gave up they will rattle your bones a tad.
I sold the 45-70 and down-sized to the 38-55 winchester
