Default RE: Flash hole

Touch holes for flinters can be from 1/16" (.0625) to 5/64" (.078) and work just fine. The larger the vent hole the faster the ignition but the more velocity you will lose. I like the coned liners with a hole diameter of .070 or a #50 drill size. Works great for 3f or 2f. The new TC and RMC coned liners are that size. The position of the vent hole is more important the the diameter and a lock with good geometry and frizzen is needed as well. The hole should be above the pan powder so that the flash rises into it.
