Default trigger lock-help

Guys, my son put a trigger lock on one of his guns and now can't find the key. I don't know whether to take it to a locksmith or gunsmith. Suggestions?

Well a lock would be a lock smith. Is there any way you can cut it off?

I had one I had to drill out than it opened depends on if it is a hardened lock or not. Tell him to look the last place he had the Key[:-]

I had to drill one off. Make sure you use a good bit. Also pad your gun really well if using a vice.

Thanks for the tip Johnmorris. The first thing I suggested was look for it where he put it.....he just had that blank stare on his face. I have access to a pretty hefty drill press but hate to do it unless thats the only choice.

cayugad....by the way I know its a lock but its also on a gun!

From what I was told gun lock are keyed alike.(but I am not sure if this is correct.) So if that is true,Find where you can get the same lock and buy it.Then try that key. If that does not work. I would contact a locksmith before drilling it out.

I'd call a locksmith, but then my cousin Bill is a locksmith so I get a good rate (free).
