Cast my first bullets this eve. Over at a friends, he has the lead pots etc I picked up the .50cal 250gr & 320gr lee real molds. the 250 mold cast bullets weighed in at 247avg the 320 at 335 to 337grs Can't wait to try them!! My buddy also cast some 535's for his .45/70 sharps, a paper patch mold they are really long!!

REALs shoot well for me as long as I do not push them too hard... I will be waiting for your range report.

I like the REALs with around70 - 80 grBPbehind them.
Looks like we are getting the same weight variations. My 250weighs light and the 320 is heavy.

I have had good luck with REAL bullets especally in the 45, and 50 never tried them in the 54, PRB is what I shoot in the 54side locks and 50 cal pistol bullets in the 54inline. Usually use 90 gr of RS in the 45 and 80 gr of P in the 50.Lee

I like the 320 out of my Trade Rifle with 80 or 90 grains behind it. haven't seen too much difference in the 2 loads.
I'll keep casting the 320 REAL, until something I cast shoots better.
Have Fun!!

If you've got some fiber or felt wads, put them under the REALs. Makes about a one-inch difference in groupsin both of my .50 calibers. If you don't have any wads, PM me with your mailing address and I'll send you a couple of dozen 1/16" Circle Fly fiber wads to try.
