Default Muzzleloader bullet

I know, I know, about every other month someone asks this question, but I am looking for a bullet combination.
My hunting buddy and I are planning on muzzleloader hunting in Colorado, and can't use saboted bullets.
I have a Knight Long Range Hunter with 1:28" twist, and need a conical bullet that shoots decent, but yet can do serious damage at 100+ yards.

Any suggestions???

Man that is an easy one... a 460 grain MT Nex Bullshop. They are awesome and shoot very accurately. I shoot them with 90 grains of T7-3f from my GM-LRH barrel.

Dan will size them to fit your barrel but you will need to know the size of your barrel. I would guess .503 or .504. That way no short starter needed just load them as you would a sabot - push them down with your thumb - then home with the ram rod... These are legal in CO .961" long

If you would like to see a ballistic sheet on this bullet let me know

You need to slug your barrel. I would suggest you cast your own. But if that guy at Bull Shop will size them for you, then that is a great idea. And it would justify a premium price. Tom

Dan in Alaska (Bullshop) makes a durn fine bullet.
You also may want to try the "No Excuses" 460 grain or larger.

What exactly is "slugging a barrel"?

I was looking at getting a bullet that I can purchase readily, like some kinda pre-lubed Thompson Center or something.
I went with anspecialsabot lastseason and had a terrible time locating more in a pinch.
Given the huge response on Bull Shop Bullets, I may just give them a shout though.

What gun are you going to use?

If you have used sabot/bullet combination before what was that...

With this information I may be able to tell you which size Bull Shop you need...

I think he is near $22.00 per 50 but lead is going up... then a standard rate box whether your buy 50 or 500...
