Default muzzleloader scope

ok guys i got what muzzleloader i want down to
either
a omega
a triumph
or a knight krb7
what scope should i go with
since this will be my first year ml hunting i want to keeps shots down to around 100 yards max.
but if i can get in alot of shooting which i hope i will. iwant to shoot one or two days a week. with 6 or 7 months till season after i get the gun
i might try and get out to 200 yardsif need be.
so i want a scope that will do 200 easy.
i would like to stay around 100 to 150 if i can with 500 for the gun if i go with the triumph then the cleaning stuff and ammo i will be in it for alot of money.
can i get scope for that if so what scope should i look at. the price is not set but i would perfer to stay there.

i do not like buying cheap stuff.
I started out at a optima then well maybe a omega now i am up to a triumph or the knight. so if i must spend more i will.

Thanks for all your help you guys have been a god send with helping me with the gun and everything thanks alot

I like a Swift or a Bushnell, I have some Bushnells that have been on one or another of my muzzleloadersfor over 12 years while sevberal other brands in the same price range are long gone into the trash after they gave up. I would recomend a Bushnell 3200 2X7 X 40. I have a couple of the more expensive ones and the only thing better about them is the fancy name. Lee

Swift, Nikon, Burris, Bushnell, all of them are good scopes. Get as good as you can afford. Practice like you talk about and you can sure stretch that 100 yard limit.

I have the Bushnell 3200 3x9 Firefly on two MLers, my Omega and my Savage. Great scope, price is about $200. If you want to shoot 200 yards, you will need the 3x9 or the 3.5x12 or 4x14.

Do my eyes deceive me? Has no one offered Leupold as a suggestion? They're great scopes...the Rifleman or VX-I would be excellent choices for mid-range prices.

I've shot some nice 100 yd and 200 yds groups with rifle and muzzleloaders using a 3x9x40 Bushnell Dusk to Dawn w/ Circle X Reticle. Not exspensive and have held up so far.

Just my suggestion to add the pile... I have switched almost everything centerfire and ML to a Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9x40 with Rain Guard lenses - I prefer the one with a ballistic Reticule but the dual X will work just fine....

Might look here they have really decent scope prices...

As far as scope the elite 3200 has been a great scope for me for the investment. I wouldn't ever consider a leupold rifleman. Nor would i choose aVXI over3200 or nikon, or burris...you get the idea. I have leupolds Varix III, VXIII and M6 still...the old ones I felt were worth it then but the new ones in todays market and better choices..not so much. Well at least the variable power models.

I have an elite 3200 on my knight, my other 2 inlines wear zeiss conquests. Not sure what your looking to spend but if its upto 400 I suggest the 3x9x40 Zeiss Conquest, a truly great scopein this price range/class. If this is more then you have in your mind the 3200 elite, Nikon Monarch, Burris FFII, etc will work. Take a look around for any 4200's, i have heard of great deals on this scope as of late it maybe getting phased out now that the new 6500 is out. Not sure but a guy I knowpicked one up for 50 bucks more then the 3200, a steal.I use to have one of these as well, excellent scope very good low light performer.

As far as power I guess a lot depends on your eye sight but I have never needed more then 10xin a big game hunting scope.

Forgot to mention don't buy without trying a number first. Optics are like shoes not all fit the same you must try them to find the one that fits!

Best of luck
