Default No Excuses 460 gr ?

I've tried the NE 460 grain bullets in my Trade Rifle, and have had fairly good accuracy.
Has anyone tried them in a faster twist? 1:28?
I was going to try them in my KRB, but if they won't perform well, I don't want to waste them.
Anyone used either the NE or similar with any success in inlines with a fast twist?

check w/sabotloader, I seem to remember a post of his w/groups he shot w/those big lead bullets out of a gm bbl, fast twist bbl. I've read that they have to be real close to bore diameter for good results. A couple of pals shoot them out of their whites w/ good results!!

I am shooting the Bullshop .504 460gr NEX with 85gr 2fg 777 and a .510 wad out of my KRB7 with great Accuracy .

Go ahead you will like them.

I also shoot the BS .504 445gr U C Shorts with same setup and they also shoot fantastic !

I too would love to know how they shoot. I hear such great things about these bullets, and how they perform on game, besides being pretty reasonably priced, but they shot horrible out of my Omega. However, that was probably due to the QLA. Am seriously thinking of trading my Omega in on a KRB if the reports of them shooting conicals well keeps up.

txhunter58, with a light load[75gr] a greased felt wad[1/4"] with 20 gr corn meal on top of the wad they will group 2" when I dont goof in my Omega. But with that load the trajectory looks like a rainbow if you plot it. Lee

I shoot 460 No Excuses-503 out of my wichester apex in a 1'' group at 80yds. Also shoot 504 460s out of a knight disc that will shoot 2'' at 100yds. both guns I shoot with 80grns of t7 fff. I shot 2 deer with the apex and these bullet and they preformed well. I dont use a wad or shot card but am going to try them this spring when I can get back to the range. Kerry

You will probably find some excellent results with them in your KRB. I would start the loads with 70 grains of as fast a burning powder you have on hand. Goex 3f, Triple Se7en 3f, Pyrodex P, all of them would work. Triple Se7en 2f also works well but kick the grains up 10%. I've shot them with and without a wonderwad. Both ways, they shoot well.

Lee

I think some were that you said you had a Program that calculated Balistix
I was just wondering if you could calculate the Foot lbs of energy in such a load?

80gr 2fg 777 & a 460gr NEX with a over powder Wad @ 50yds - 100 yds - 150 yds
Also 85gr & 90Gr

And with a 445gr Conical with same powder charges
with barrle lenghs of 24" - 26" & 28"

That would be of some great Help Also.

Ron
