That is the life of a farmer. Either too wet, or too dry. Too hot or too cold. And the ones with livestock work 356 days a year and never get a vacation. I heard some bitter cold might be headed your way along with some snow. Stay warm and dry..

The deer and the turkeys are struggling this year crust of heavy ice below our snow pack down here.. It is hard to scratch through I see a lot of winter kill more than the last few years

Having grown up with both crops and livestock, I really feel for you and hope things clear up and let you finish the harvest soon. I really hope the yield is still decent too. A few years back in MI our neighbor couldn't get his last 80 acres of soybeans off before the weather turned....his brother, myself, and three friends filled all our anterless tags thinning the massive deer herd that entered the field at dusk every night, but by the time he could get into the field he made two rounds before deciding to just plow it all under. I remember sitting in a truck with my brother in law counting deer going into the field after we'd all run out of tags, we lost count north of 120.
At least what's there will be worth more than historically this year...
My friend who has a large hog/corn farm in the southern end of Wisconsin has a photo of his picker out in the snow coveredfield. It was full, and just had not beenunloaded yet. In the middle of the field surrounding that picker, the ground was black for (no kidding) 30 feet. When he showed me the photo, I was kind of surprised. He then laughed and said the turkeys are kind of hungry this winter. That's where I turkey hunt.

This is why trampolines are so dangerous... I do not know who took this picture as it was sent to me by a friend in an email. Pretty cool.
