when I bought my new englander, someone drilled 3 holes in the stock to mount a sling. I got the wood filler to one hole to blend. the two on the forearm are not.
any idea to get them to blend better?

Wood putty comes in many colors. You may have to dig that out. prep it and get a darker color. One that's closer to your preference for a finished stock. I've done it on many other pieces of wood. A rifle stock should be no different.
If ya cant find filler in the right color I've heard guys mix there color stain or finish with it. I never tried it so dont know if its bs or if it works. Kerry
Some people just aren't that bright. I hope the filler holds for you. Now just get that thing shooting good and don't worry about the asthetics. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a stock on Ebay if you want a replacement.

When I have to repair something like that I use inlays either wood that is very similar and try to get the grain close so its not noticeable or brass ivory or iron inlays that are matched to the guns hardware. Lee
