Default Well, here it is folks!!!

My new Knight Disc Extreme.

Leupold 4.5 - 14 x 40 (30mm main tube)
QD Warne High rings
Weaver steel bases

All cleaned up, 2lb trigger, ready to go. Just have to freefloat barrel.

Now, if the 6 ft of snow around here would melt, I'd get out and tune it up for spring bear.

very nice looking rifle and scope. It should be an excellent combination.

Sometimes I get a little carried away.

Godd looking rig. This is just my opinion but I think you have the scope too high off the barrel. Even if you have to remove part or all of the rear sight, you need to get that scope lower. If you do not lower it you will definitely need a cheek piece on the rifle. Tom.

Well, thanks for the standing ovations on the Knight. Now comes the real learning curve though. I need to develop a load, and I've already got plenty of you guys' ideas printed out.

I bought some Barnes, Hornady and TC stuff, but am hoping the 290 Barnes pan out.

Anybody shot .44 cal pistol ammo much with a sabot shroud in a .50? I'm thinking of trying that, because I've got a .44 and an absolute ton of bullets for it, more than I plan to use in the pistol anyway. I got a new titanium .41 two years ago for griz interdiction while bow hunting, so the .44 went into the safe.

I have shot many .44cal bullets in my .50cal .430 Hornady - .429 Speer - .429.5 Sierra all 300gr and they shot very well I use the Harvester Green Crush Rib sabots with these bullets .

Another one you can try is the .452 300gr Speer Gold Dot in the 454 Casual it is a bonded bullet and dose a super job with 110gr of 777 .

Again Congrats on the KNIGHT

Many times, the .44 caliber bullets will shoot well in a .429-.430 diameter sabot. All you can do is try them. After all I shoot a .430 300 grain XTP in a crushed rib sabot in mine. The XTP will shoot well in handguns also. I used to shoot a Hollow Point in my Red Hawk .44 caliber but they put too big a hole in the deer so I went to a solid tip flat point.
