Default Mid-winter.....what to do? ML packed away...

Thank GOD for DISH satellite TV and the likes of the 'The Outdoor Channel'. That's about all there isafter the Super Bowl, other than work and some honey-do's. Anyone else feel some of this 'cabin fever' syndrome?

Whats mid winter have to do with packing up the muzzleloader? Bundle up, and go out and shoot!

Going out in the morning with my sidelock with a foot of fresh snow on the ground.

Only thing keeping people inside at this time of year is them selves.
Went and chased a few bunnies today. Had a good time and best of all no misses and no clean up either. but the dogs had fun running.

Know the feeling. We made national news last week, 73 degrees at noon and then dropped to 12 degrees followed by 8" of snow. Gave that a few days and we were back to 70+ degrees again only to see yet another front come in. Thunderstorms, hail, some sleet, but mosty heavy rain. By the end of this week back to 19 degrees for the high. I have stared at my ML and stared at my fishing pole. Remedy so far has beena trip to Bass Pro and Cabela's just to wonder around. Weather here is messed up!

I never take weather into consideration for the most part. Or season for that matter. I shoot all year round unless it is bitter cold. My old bones just do not take cold weather as well as they used to. Right now is ice fishing season, snowmobile trails, snow shoes, cross country ski, down hill ski, and lots of other good winter activities. Not to mention walking out the back door, brushing the snow off the 50 yard shooting table and having some fun on the range with a number of rifles. We also have rabbit and squirrel hunting on our own property.

With all the high tec winter wear on the market now about all that keeps me cooped up is rain and lighting. And when the rain & fire works are flying I set at a reloading bench, or set the fly tieing vice up. I don't have time to do that in the summer with the bees and all.
Like I said the dogs had bunnies going yesterday but they didn't run near me.
Today I'm scouting for a youte set up for this evening.
Not enough snow for the snowmobile or cross country skis after Monday and Tuesdays warm spell and rain that took all the snow.
