Default Seasons is now over in Alabama

Well another year of deer hunting is over. I am blessed by hunting in Al as the season is a long one. The deer limit is pretty liberal there. But I really miss the nights down at the cabin with friends. I like to smell the oak burning in the wood stove and the grill is full of great food. Stories some true some not are told over and over. I am 70 so it really doesn't matter how many times I hear the stories because I can't remember them from last year. I am now working on the things needed for next year. We got to cut and split wood. Food plots need work, need to add 3 more ladder stands for bow season, finish 100 yd range, build a shed for the worthless tractor and do a little work on the cabin. Here is the cabin when ileft it the last time. They don't get much snow but man it was beautiful!!

Nice. I enjoy my time at our cabin to. Don't spend near as much time there as I'd like. Its 100 miles from home, tucked in a deep valley in North Central PA. No running water, no electric, and propane heat. I sure miss the old days with the johnny stove glowing cherry red from the coal embers and the camp full of all the old timers. That's us now. There are only about 5 of us that go up for bear every year. And once or twice in the spring/summer to "do some fixing up" - at least that's what we tell the women.

Very nice picture... there is something special about hunting times with friends and family. And you only have a little less then a year to wait and do it all again...
