2 777 pellets and 240 gr. Deadcenter bullets worked real well in all I have had.

I thought there were a lot more Kodiak shooters on this site. Didn't a lot of you purchase them when they were on sale a while back? What happened?

I did a search using the term Kodiak under the black powder forum using a time frame of 1 year and there were a lot of hits on the Kodiak. Perhaps a search might be in order. Now that I think back perhaps it was the APEX they were all buying there for a while.

My son's Apex is more or less the same gun, hishas a camo stock with SS barrel. The gun seems very reliable and shoots several loads under 2" at 100+ yards. The only thing thats a bit of a concern for some is the need for extra high rings if your scope has an occular lens on the larger side, this is needed to allow enough room to cock the hammer back, of course my fingers a on the large side so that may be part of the problem. Here are some loads that work in his gun.

130gr pellets and a 250gr Shockwave 2100fps
100gr Pyro P and a 285gr Barnes 1780fps
90gr Pyro P and a 460 Bull Shop conical 1480fps

I'm sure there are others but I don't have my notes with me. Good luck with it.

This was my first ML and I like it very much. It was very accurate right out of the box, and I can honestly say that it has shot everything I have fed it as good as the guy behind the sights can manage. I have shot a few different conicals, several different sabot combinations, both 777 and RS loose powder and 777 pellets through it with about equal success. I had an issue for a while with crud rings from 777 this summer, but late fall and winter the problem went away.

Beyond that, my only knock on this model is the trigger. The trigger on my 870 shotgun is smoother than the one on the Kodiak. Luckily, CVA will adjust triggers as part of their lifetime warranty. Mine will be headed their way this spring for some tuning. That said, even with the bad trigger and me behind the trigger, this gun still produces 1" groups @ 100 yds. when I do my part.

I have one and don't really have anything bad to say except for the sight. They are plastic and I would much prefer a steel sight over a plactic anyday, I did upgrade it. Shot one of my biggest buck with it last year and drop him like a ton of brick. I'm shooting speer GDHP 300gr. with 100gr. 777 pellets. Very accurate out80 yards with rifle sight.
