And too cold to run the drier..So I thought
I would check out the board again.
This is a great site to get info. from...Thanks

Must be fun to run the combine in this kind of weather... At least you must be enclosed with a heater and a good radio... Ipity you, having to be out there picking this time of year. But of course farm work is a full time job it seems. When your not working in the field or the barns, then it is repair the equipment time. Kicking any good deer out of the corn?

Check with Underclocked on the Remington Genesis. He had one and can tell you about them.

Johnny, most owners seem to like their Genesis rifles. Guess I'm just too picky. The trigger on mine was spongy and had creep. I figured out a way to "fix" the trigger, then got a set of replacement springs from Traditions (the actual importer of the Genesis and where you will get your spare parts). The replacement springs worked much better than had the originals and yielded a satisfactory trigger. The "Torch Cam" seems ok but set in that alloy receiver block - itlooks to me as if wear would get the better of it and serious leakage of blowback might result (purely speculation on my part). I had some issue with the cam becoming immobile after several shots due to fouling, perhaps because of the type of primer I was using, but that problem would not hamper the rifle while hunting in any case.

Like a lot of guns I have owned, I had to have one because it was new and different but it didn't make my keeper list. It's a very simple design that could have been implemented with better materials and perhaps have been more popular. The trend for a lot of these new rifles is to use lightweight alloys to reduce weight of the rifle and cost of production. I know the barrel is by far the most important element in any muzzleloader, but that is no reason to abandon the use of quality materials in other parts of the rifle.... /RANT!. TC has their example of such a trend with the Triumph, Knight is coming out with their Shadow, and Traditions markets the Yukon - all a huge leap downhill so far as durability and quality of finish, IMHO.

Shelling corn and filling silos.. boy that brings back memories. Just like sorting pigs, and loading allof them cantankerous critters. Nothing more exciting the being chased through a pitch black loading barn by a 500+ boar. Those Olympic high jumpers should have seen me clear some of them loading gates and fences that night. I used to work on farms and drive livestock trucks from stockyards to the big shipping centers.

Get a hold of Semisane.. I think he has a mustang and some good loads worked up for his. Could save you a lot of time, powder, and projectiles.... If you are a member of the Modern Muzzleloader Forum, there are some Mustang owners over there that have loads and suggestions also that might be a big help for you. Just do a search over there for Mustang and it brings up pages.
