Default Optima trigger

I just measured my dad"™s optima trigger pull. It is 8 pounds and kind of feels gritty. Any ideas on how to improve it? I rebuilt my 10/22 trigger but I thought I read somewhere not to take this trigger apart.

Send it back to the factory and let them adjust it so you do not void the warranty on the trigger. CVA/BPI is good about fixing triggers. As they have done a number of my rifles as well.

yeah just call CVA, tell them the problem and they'll have you send the rifle in. Its either 3 1/2 or 4 lbs is the maximum they can adjust it down to due to their "safety" policy. Should take more than a week or 2.
