Default Omega,200gr shockwave Chony data



Finally got my chrony fixed. Shooting last weekend 82 yrds. here is what I got
200gr shockwave 100gr T7 1993,2032,2067 FPS about 1.5" MOA
200gr shockwave 148gr T7 2271,2335,2222 FPS about 5" MOA

I would concurr with those readings, from what I have shot from my Omega...

150 grains of T7 pellets is right at 2400fps

WOW!!! those things are really moving. No wonder they do such a good job on animals from the reports in on them.

Thats about what I get with 777-FF for 100gr I have not loaded more than 120 did not think it would burn much of it behind that light a bullet. Lee

The 100g value for a 200g SW predicted by the formular given by Zugunruhe here:

was 1984 fps, which is pretty close to the values shot by you. The median value of 2032 is only 48 fps off from what the formula MV = 2518.4* X ** .344, where X= powder charge in g/ bullet weight in grains. Interesting that the formula doesn't use ballistic coefficients or anything, just bullet weight and charge, but it is pretty close to what was shot with a high BC ML bullet.

Bullet BC would not come into play @ the muzzle - it is down range that BC does its thing....

Above you wrote that with 148 grains the MOA was 5" at 82 yds. Was that right?

Sounds good to me. Just bought a bunch of 200 grain Shockwaves in the blue sabot. Got to get my Encoresighted for them when the weather warms up..

Yes thoe group size really opened up at 148 gr. I haven't had time to work up load in between yet.
