Default Well 4 more days till my trip.

I leave friday morning headed for Red River WMA for the last muzzleloader hunt of the year. I will be camping out friday night and Sat. night. There are some nice deer over there. Only thing is rain all week, and over there it is real low oak bottoms and the area gets real wet and that Louisiana gumbo mud is horrible but like i saidBIG deer. I will be right between The red river and the Mississippi river. I will camp on the bank of the Red and the Miss. is about 2 or 3 miles across the woods. it will be the final trip for my optima for the 07/08 season, Yall wish me luck on a WALL HANGER, actually if I can just see a deer Iwill behappy as can be... yall take care..

SB, that will be my #1 priority, I have an umbrella I can put in the tree to keep myself and my gear dry, then on the 4 wheeler i will have my gun case, so everything should stay moderatly dry and clean...

RugerMike lets go, if you can be ready by Friday morning come on, just bring camping stuff and food and a 4 wheeler if you got it...

I think you will need the Big game, then the Muzzleloader permit and then the WMA permit.

Yes it is state land. It is 41,000 acres with few roads and atv trails. I will post a link and you can see a map.. http://www.wlf.state.la.us/hunting/wmas/wmas/list.cfm?wmaid=39

Muzzleloading season goes out this weekend (Sunday) but achery season goes till the end of the month. This will be my first year over there with a muzzleloader, normally take my bow. Last year during the bow season we were the only ones in the camp ground. During rifle season there are alot of people hunting, but I dont know about Muzzleloader season... If you could meet me in Simmesport LA or Marksville, you could follow me the rest of the way. Where are you located?

I'm in Indiana. Probably about a 9-10 hour drive to you? I would travel down I-65 in Alabama. Let me do some soul searching. Man that sure sounds like fun. I'll let you know for sure by tommorrow. Can you shoot me an e-mail to mikem@tls.net
Thanks
Mike

I have another ML seson either sex in Alabama from 1/6 thru 1/24. I am going to my cabin for 5 or six days and hopefully shoot a deer. I only allow bucks with 4 on 1 side or better to be a shooter. I have about 6 guys that I have given permission to hunt. You do have to shoot a doe first.
As I get older I really hate to see the season close. I hope you get a LA monster in that swamp down there. I love the food there. I have friends in Beaux Bridge.
