Anybody had any dealing with the muzzleloader barrel for the Mossberg 500's? My uncle gave me one for Christmas and I found out they are legal to use in Virginia so I'm curious if anyone has had any problems, complaints or praise for it.
i had one and it shot great. its a little hard to put the 209 primer on but you will figure it out. its a great concept if you want an all in one gun. it is a very heavy set up but that will make it hold steady better. those barrels are getting harder to find.
I don't have experience with this one but found this site where there are some load recommendations. That barrel fits the 500 series shotguns by Mossberg. There should be a manual with the barrel that shows the loads if not here it is:
Thanks guys. I've heard two things since I got it. One is that they are hard to find because they have been discontinued but another site said they will be available after Jan. 8th, 2008. Don't know which is true but at least I've got one to try with both pellets and loose powder.
