like say the spitfire 245 or the TMZ 250 I'm stuck with the sabot they come with aren't i? since they are both boattails.
from what i understand the triumphs have tight bores and are a pain to load. and copper bullets don't do well since they don't "give" so are they worth shooting in a truimph?
Check out my post on Barnes Performance,,, Outstanding!! You will see the doe which i had taken w/ my T/C Omega using Barnes Spit-fire TMZ 250 grain bullets.... I will never shoot another Sabot!!!!!!!!!! And I have shot a lot!
They are undoubtedly a little hard to get down the barrel of T/C's but well worth it!!!!!!!

the 245 is not the TMZ.
the TMZ is 250 or 290 blue tipped MZ bullet, boattail. with blue exload sabots (the first released with yellow sabots)
the spitfires are spitzers 245 or 290 hollow points with yellow reg or ezload sabots, boattail.
That's correct!!! The picture of the bullet that I had recovered is the 245 grain Spit-fire MZ.That wasthe bullet i had used to harvest the coyote, using my Knight Disc...... Further down the thread you would have seen me with a T/C Omega (Grey Lam. Thumbhole) standing next to a doe, which i had used the 250 grain (blue tipped) Spit-fire TMZ bullet. Both bullets preformed beautifully, thus I should have clarified my statement.... i will only use Barnes Sabots, not just the MZ's, but also the TMZ's as well!

May I also suggest, that if you do not like the difficulty in which they load, try the Nosler Partition bullet.. I have seen their performance first hand and had also seen a recovered bullet another great performing bullet!

I have a friend that lubes the sabots on his Barnes bullets/sabots with a dab of bore butter to make loading easier in his Knight. Doesn't seem to hurt accuracy a bit, I've witnessedmany 1" groups at 100 yards out of it.

A lot of folks over on the Savage forum shoot the TMZ, since it has a high BC.
Some use a Crushed Rib sabot from Harvester, with a #8 washer in the bottom of the sabot. That seems to hold the pressure tightly to the bore and gets the TMZ down the bore. I have NOT tried that but that is what I read. Chap
