Default Problem with T/C Encore Stock?

I purchased a new thumbhole stock for my T/C Encore. The stock screw is about 3/4 of an inch to short. I contacted the company and they said that they do not make longer screws for it!
Should I drill some excess wood off or have some one make me a screw? If so does anyone know what type of thread T/C is using for that screw? (To hold the stock to frame)
Thanks

The Boyd stock should have came with a bolt. I bought two of them, and they both came with the bolt. You need to make sure you have the exact length bolt. IMO you have a problem, the bolt you hadshould fit. I would contact Boyd's. Tom.

I Did contact Boyd's. They told me that they do not issue screws with there stocks. The even referred me Midway & Brownell's to het the screw. Don't know where else to go from here. Going to check the hardware store tomorrow.

I bought two of them from EABCO. Both definitely came with the bolt. Did they say their stock uses a different size bolt?? Something sounds wrong to me. Call EABCO-I am pretty sure they have them. The problem is you have to have an exact fit, and I can not figure out why the one you have does not fit?? Tom.

The Boyds thumbhole stock does take a longer bolt, the bolt hole isn't milled out as deeply as the OEM T/C stock is.. The stock I bought from Boyds didnt come with a new bolt however EABCO must add the bolt in their kit because their stock kits inclube one which is nice..
