shoot in the snow so you'll know what to expect when you are hunting. I love shooting/hunting in the snow, to me its relaxing. Rain/sleet is another story. Cant stand that stuff!
well, I was going to the range monday. but they are calling for snow this weekend. I never hunted with snow on the ground.
Any advise? I may just get my lazy a$$ out of bed monday and hunt all day
Wear good boots, warm socks and watch your footing so you don't slip. Snow is nothing to concern yourself with. Hunting wise, it works to your advantatge. You can see them coming much sooner as their movements stand out much more, it is normally more quiet to walk in then dried leaves, foot prints are easier to follow then marks in the dirt, blood trails and hits are easier to spot. When there is snow on the ground I consider myself a lucky hunter.

should I go with my first plan of going to the range monday morning then go hunt to get use to it or just hunt all day? or I could go hunting early then the range, pick up my paycheck then go back out? sorry too much on my mind lol
next ?? (just thought of it)
I been using musket caps, should I switch to #11's? being a little tighter and not having splits it should be little more water tight.
nevermind just anwsered it.

Sounds like we might have 3-6" of snow here in southern Ohio Saturday morningfor thesecond portion (2 days -Sat & Sun) of the gun season. Makes it hard to hunt deer. They stand out so well with the white backround and the blood trail on the snow is just too easy to follow, just doesn't seem as sporting! Why even a novice should be able to kill one of those cute little critters.
This old "novice" will be out there in the snow at daylight Saturday just hoping one of them cute little critters walks within range! Still have 2 tags left, and no buck yet.
Ahh man hunting in the snow rules!! Seems like them ol deer still think they are invisible and just stand there and wait for ya to shoot..lol. Also the fact that Ill be using a ml just seems to make it even better!
just cought the weather for tomarrow. light rain in the morning, then MAINLY SLEET. I have to go out of town with my wife to do some christmas shopping. I was planning to hunt in the afternoon, but the crap starts at noon. Monday, clear and 39.
