Default Recovered Nosler 260 grain

OK! - I finally got one...

This is the bullet that I shot the 4x4 whitetail with late last month. It entered behind the left front shoulder and exited out behind the last rib on the right side...

It is not a Barnes but operates about the same or in my way of thinking the Barnes works about the same way as a Nosler....

That is the only other bullet I would consider using....... My buddy Texas heart shot a buck and the bullet passed clean through its entire body and we found it just under the skin of the front left shoulder... GREAT bullet!!!!!!!!

Thing of beauty. Perfect, except for the lead head which sometimes comes out in the expansion, but they keep driving.

You'll have to go out and shoot another one. I'd like to see if the lead came out inside the deer or if the bullet stayed intact until it was being removed from the stump. So, go shoot us a couple of more and we can all discuss the findings around the campfire along with some jerky, hot links, backstrap etc. Good luck, Greg

I thought those were suposed to be bonded bullets? It looks like you had some jacket separation from the front lead core seeing that it's missing. Even so they obviously do the job well. That's a pretty tough bullet. Nice shootin.

When i first dug the bullet out there was still a smal piece of lead remaining in the cup... but when I put it in the sink and scrubbed it clean that piece of lead came out and I lost it down the drain - I do not want to take the trap apart just to find it.

No - Noslers are not bonded - they do not need to be. If you look at the top picture you will see the copper partion that separates the lead in the rear portion of the bullet from the lead in the front... The lead in the front is a very smal piece of lead and it aids the opening of the petals. That is one of the reason the Nosler will open over a greater range of velocities than any other bullet...

The lead in the rear compartment is encased in the copper jacket and can not be displaced - it sorta like a "timex" watch - it just keeps on driving the bullet deeper and deeper bone is a minor obstacle.

Severalbenefits of the flowering upper portion of the bullet, the flower is sharper than heck and just cuts it way through tissue+it creates"hydrostatic pressure" that bursts organs with liquid in them.

Been using them for over 20 years - they are great...
