Default help me figure out my next range session

I am thinking of skipping hunting monday morning and go to the range (I have 3 weeks of late ML starting saturday). I am not wanting to touch my hunting load, .430 240 gr xtp with mmp green sabot with 85grs of pyrodex p. I am going to try the great plans w/sabot again. just really want to blow off some steam.

I am going to take my sks and ruger 96/22 with me.

bullets I have:
45cal 250gr xtp
230gr bullet surefire
45cal 300 gr xtp
250gr shockwave
245gr PB

so which one?

since you want to blow off steam... shoot all of them.

I've already admitted to forum members that I'm anal, so I'll go ahead and chip in on this one. If you're going to have a range session why not try to learn something specific rather than just do a lot of random shooting?

For example:

Shoot the same bullet and powder charge with three or four different sabots - at least three shots each, five is better.

Or, shoot the same bullet/powder charge and try (1) seating the bullet until it just touches the powder, (2) seating the bullet with one firm push once it touches the powder, and (3) seating the bullet as firmely as possible by really leaning on the rod. Again, three or five shots of each loading.

Or, Or, Or, Aw heck - just shoot the dang things.

well, I got going through my ML box, I have 28 surefire sabots with 230gr bullets that I am not really going to use, I think I will shot about 10 or so of those and some shockwaves. I think it is all going to be at 100 yrds but the hornady conical/ sabot, I really want to do that test again. lol
